“Hope and Health to Jamaica”
H2Jamaica was formed in 2009 by a group of people from various parts of the United States who had been coming to Jamaica on mission trips since 1990. We incorporated in 2014 as a non-profit and are a 501(c)(3) organization. Our annual mission is based in Manchester in south-central Jamaica and we work in conjunction with the Manchester Ministry of Health. Besides providing medical, dental, and spiritual care to the residents of the parish, we also have a construction team that works on a variety of projects in the parish in partnership with local agencies and churches.
Mission Statement
Ministering in the name of Jesus Christ, we seek to bring hope and health to the people of Jamaica.
Hope
- We come in the name of Jesus Christ to bear witness to God the Father, who in his great mercy gives us new birth — to a “living hope” through the resurrection of his Son from death; to an inheritance that awaits us in heaven; to Holy Spirit’s faith-refining work in midst of the difficulties of life; and to lives of joy and praise” (1 Peter 1:3-9).
- We minister as a team in the name of Jesus Christ to use our God-given individual gifts to also bring physical hope to the people and communities of Jamaica.
- We leave in the name of Jesus Christ asking God’s blessing on the people we have served: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).
Health
- It is the gospel we share, believed and obeyed (faith followed by Spirit-produced deeds), that results in the spiritual health God desires for all.
- It is God’s healing Spirit that uses our individual and team gifts to work physical health in our bodies and community health through various construction projects.
